Daisy, Daisy Dream, Ever So Fresh, Perfect or Acqua di Gioia? Fresh Florals Compared
Five popular fresh floral perfumes side by side by their published notes and concentration: Marc Jacobs Daisy, Daisy Dream, Daisy Ever So Fresh and Perfect, and Armani Acqua di Gioia.
Published 6 min read

The quick answer
Based on their published notes: original Daisy is a soft strawberry-and-violet floral; Daisy Dream is airier, with blackberry, pear and watery wisteria; Daisy Ever So Fresh is the juiciest, with mango and pineapple; Perfect trades fruit for white florals and cedar; and Acqua di Gioia is the freshest, with lemon and mint. Try minis or travel sprays before choosing a full bottle.
Key takeaways
- This comparison is based on brand and retailer note lists, not on our own wear testing.
- The three Daisy fragrances share a fruity floral style; they differ mainly in which fruit leads.
- Perfect and Acqua di Gioia are the two to consider if you want less fruit.
- Several of these come in more than one concentration with similar bottles, so check the listing title.
These five fragrances turn up again and again in women's fragrance best-seller lists, and they're easy to confuse. Three are part of the same Marc Jacobs Daisy line, and two more promise a "fresh" floral feel. This guide lines them up by what the brands and major retailers publish: the notes, the concentration and the overall style.
The five at a glance
| Fragrance | Concentration | Top | Heart | Base | Style |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marc Jacobs Daisy | Eau de toilette | Violet leaves, wild strawberry | Violet petals, jasmine | Musk, vanilla | Soft fruity floral |
| Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream | Eau de toilette | Blackberry, grapefruit, pear | Jasmine, lychee, blue wisteria | White woods, musk, coconut water | Airy, watery fruity floral |
| Marc Jacobs Daisy Ever So Fresh | Eau de parfum | Mandarin, mango, pineapple | Rosewater, orange blossom | Cashmere woods | Juicy, tropical fruity floral |
| Marc Jacobs Perfect | Eau de toilette | Pink peppercorn, polygonum | White daffodil | Cedarwood | Clean white floral and wood |
| Armani Acqua di Gioia | Eau de parfum | Lemon, mint | Jasmine, peony | Cedar, brown sugar accord | Fresh citrus-aquatic floral |
The Daisy family: which fruit leads
All three Daisy fragrances are fruity florals with a soft, approachable style. The easiest way to choose between them is by which fruit you'd prefer to notice first.
Daisy, the original, is listed by Marc Jacobs with violet leaves and wild strawberries on top, violet petals and jasmine in the heart, and musk and vanilla in the base. (One of the brand's own listings gives sandalwood as the base instead, a reminder that note lists vary.) It's the gentlest of the three on paper.
Daisy Dream swaps strawberry for blackberry, grapefruit and pear, and adds lychee and blue wisteria to the jasmine heart. Coconut water in the base points to a lighter, more watery feel.
Daisy Ever So Fresh is the juiciest: mandarin, mango and pineapple, then rosewater and orange blossom over cashmere woods. It's also the only one of the three sold as an eau de parfum, though, as our perfume buying guide explains, that label isn't standardized.
Perfect: florals without the fruit
Marc Jacobs Perfect eau de toilette takes a different direction. Sephora lists pink peppercorn, polygonum and cedarwood as key notes, and Ulta adds white daffodil as the heart. With no fruit in the published notes, it's the one to look at if the Daisy line sounds too sweet.
One caution: Perfect comes as an eau de toilette, an eau de parfum and Perfect Intense, in similar bottles. Check the listing title for the version you want.
Acqua di Gioia: the freshest of the five
Armani's Acqua di Gioia eau de parfum is the outlier in style. Armani's own pages list primofiore lemon and mint on top, jasmine in the heart, and cedar with a brown-sugar accord in the base, which it describes as amber-woody. Citrus and mint make it the most "fresh" by its notes, with the brown sugar adding a little warmth underneath.
Don't confuse it with Acqua di Giò, Armani's separate men's line with a similar name.
Which style may suit you
May suit you if…
- You like soft, sweet-leaning florals for daytime.
- You want an easy, widely available fragrance to start with.
- You'd like a choice of fruit: strawberry, blackberry and pear, or mango and pineapple.
Consider skipping a fruity floral from the Daisy line if…
- You prefer dry, green or woody scents — look at Perfect or Acqua di Gioia instead.
- Fragrance tends to irritate your skin; patch test or spray on clothing.
- You've never smelled the line before and only a full bottle is on offer; find a mini first.
Before you buy
Checklist for these five
- Confirm the exact name: Daisy, Daisy Dream, Daisy Ever So Fresh, Perfect or Acqua di Gioia.
- Check the concentration in the title (EDT, EDP or Intense) and the size.
- Prefer listings sold by the brand or Amazon, and check the box is sealed on arrival.
- Try a mini or travel spray where available before buying a large bottle.
- Store it capped and out of the sun.
The bottom line
On their published notes, the Daisy trio covers soft fruity florals from gentle (Daisy) to airy (Daisy Dream) to juicy (Ever So Fresh). Perfect is the pick if you want florals without fruit, and Acqua di Gioia if you want citrus and freshness. If you'd rather start with something lighter and cheaper than a perfume, our body mist vs. perfume guide compares the options, and scent stacking explains how to layer what you already own.
